Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in natural gas transportation to assist gas suppliers in delivering gas to industrial customers. West Java is an area with a gas demand of 246.36 MMSCFD. With the increasing utilization of natural gas in various industries, one crucial aspect of natural gas is the measurement of gas flow through equipments. Discrepancy reduction can be achieved using AGA 3 Orifice Simulation. The distribution of natural gas in the West Java Area, based on AGA 3 Orifice Simulation, can increase the company's revenue. The discrepancy in natural gas distribution in the West Java Area is caused by various factors categorized into five main groups. The AGA 3 Orifice simulation results show that several optimization steps can significantly reduce discrepancies in gas flow measurement by replacing the orifice size to optimize the natural gas flow rate measurement. Reducing discrepancies has a significant impact on the company's operations and finances. Based on research on optimizing discrepancy reduction in natural gas distribution in the West Java Area through AGA 3 Orifice simulation at PT XYZ, regular monitoring and maintenance of the equipments are recommended. Additionally, it is essential to hold training programs and competency improvement for personnel involved in equipment operation and maintenance. Implementation of advanced technology and integrated analysis software is also recommended.
